Implant-Supported Cast Partial Dentures
Implant-Supported Cast Partials are cast partial dentures but have implants to help support and anchor the prosthesis around the remaining teeth and supporting gums.
Advantages
- Use of implants eliminates the need of metal hooks
- Strong biting force
- Excellent aesthetics
- More comfortable
- Excellent retention
- Less acrylic coverage in mouth
Disadvantages
- More expensive
- Metal framework still required

Cast Partial Dentures
Cast Partial Dentures consist of a cast metal framework which reinforces the dentures and helps support remaining natural teeth. Metal clasp (hooks) anchor on the remaining natural teeth to provide retention and stability when used.
Advantages
- All metal frameworks we offer are made of Vitallium (trademark for an alloy of 65% cobalt, 30% chromium, 5% molybdenum, and other substances)
- Light weight
- Hygienic
- Strong and rigid
- Prevents natural teeth from shifting
Disadvantages
- Metal clasps may show (dependent on teeth that remain)
- Natural teeth may need prep work
- Feeling of metal in the mouth
- may require more adjustments

Flexible Partial Dentures
Flexible Partial Dentures are made of a biocompatible nylon and thermoplastic resin which gives it the ability to be flexible.
Advantages
- Virtually invisible
- Well adapted around gum tissues and teeth
- Strong, thin and lightweight
- More comfortable
- Very retentive
- Very adaptive to gum tissues which means less adjustments required
- Clasp tested to be virtually unbreakable
Disadvantages
- Expensive to repair or add teeth
- More precise adjustments needed
- Harder to tighten/reline
